Since many people have recently asked me about this Ticova Office Chair, I decided to buy it and put it to the test.

This popular budget-friendly choice on Amazon boasts an impressive 4.3-star rating and over 3,000 positive reviews.

With such a surge in popularity, I became curious about how comfortable it is and how it stacks up against similar chairs in its price range, like the Sihoo M18 or the Flexispot OC3.

To find out, I spent three months using it as my everyday chair. I evaluated its comfort, durability, ergonomics, and overall value.

Delivery and Unboxing

Starting with the delivery, the chair arrived a day later than expected, which wasn’t an issue for me.

However, if you need the chair right away, I wanted to point out the delay so you can plan accordingly. The packaging was in good condition, with just a few minor marks.

Upon opening the box, I was pleased to find all the components neatly organized, individually bagged, and well-protected with bubble wrap, which is always a nice sign of care.

Assembly Process

The assembly process was straightforward and hassle-free. All necessary tools and hardware were included, which made the setup relatively quick.

From opening the box to fully assembling the chair, the entire process took me approximately 15-20 minutes and didn’t require any additional assistance.

The instructions were clear, concise, and easy to follow, with helpful diagrams that guided me through each step.

Build Quality

After 3 months of daily use, the chair’s frame remains solid and stable, continuing to offer a surprising level of durability for an office chair at this price point.

The armrests are still firmly attached to the frame and provide good support. The gas lift mechanism is reliable, smoothly raising and lowering the chair without jerky motions or uncomfortable sounds.

The wheels roll smoothly and quietly on most surfaces, allowing easy movement around the workspace without causing disruption.

However, the headrest feels flimsy compared to the rest of the chair, lacking the sturdiness and quality of the frame, seat, and backrest.

Additionally, while the mesh feels like decent quality, it has a somewhat net-like texture rather than a truly supportive feel. The chair initially had a distinct, unpleasant odor, but it dissipated after one week.

Comfort and Ergonomics

The chair’s seat features a generous cushion made with 3.4-inch density foam. This offers a comfortable balance of support and plushness.

While the cushion may feel slightly firm at first, the high-density foam softens gradually over the first few weeks of use, as is common with most foam cushions.

I found the Ticova’s seat to be notably more comfortable than similarly priced chairs like the HBADA Butterfly or Ikea Markus, likely due to its thicker padding.

The lumbar support, although not perfect, offers a decent level of lower back support. It was certainly better than many budget office chairs, however, I wish it had a bit of padding as the hard plastic frame can become uncomfortable during extended use.

Additionally, while the lumbar support’s adjustability was sufficient for short periods, for those who spend over 8 hours seated, it might not offer enough support on its own and may require the use of a lumbar pad for added comfort and support.

The mesh offers decent breathability, but it feels somewhat low-quality compared to higher-end models, which is reflected in the price.

Additionally, the texture is slightly rough, which could become uncomfortable during extended periods of sitting.

The 3D armrests are a welcome addition, striking a good balance between firmness and comfort. They provide ample support without being too soft.

While I prefer the armrests on the Sihoo M18 for their softer feel, these armrests offer greater adjustability, making them a matter of preference.

While the rest of the chair is well-made, the headrest is a notable drawback. Even though it can be adjusted in both height and angle, it just doesn’t provide enough support for my head and neck during long work sessions.

This lack of support is especially noticeable for taller individuals like myself, as the headrest often sits too low, requiring frequent adjustments in an ongoing effort to find comfort.4o

Value For Money

In terms of value for money, the Ticova office chair stands out as an exceptional choice in the budget-friendly category.

Priced competitively, it delivers features and build quality that rival more expensive models. I bought this chair during Prime Day and paid $139 for it, discounted from $199 (July – 2024)

At this price, it is unbeatable if you can get it on a similar deal. The features and quality you receive for such a low price make it an outstanding bargain.

However, even at its full retail price of $199, the Ticova office chair still offers good value. While it may not be the absolute best chair on the market, it provides a solid balance of features, build quality, and comfort for the price.

But if you want to get the most out of your money, try to snag it on sale. Keep an eye out for deals during special events or holidays, as this is when you’re most likely to find the Ticova at a reduced price, maximizing your value for money.

Is it Worth it?

Yes, the Ticova office chair is worth it. Priced competitively, it delivers features and build quality that rival more expensive models.

However, if you have high expectations or previously used a mid-priced chair, you might want to consider other models, such as the Colamy Atlas or the Nouhaus Ergo3D.

These chairs offer superior materials, advanced ergonomic features, and a higher level of comfort that will be more in line with your expectations.

For those on a budget or seeking a reliable chair without the hefty price tag, the Ticova office chair is an excellent choice.
