After years of testing all sorts of office chairs, from budget-friendly options to luxury brands, I was particularly interested in the launch of the Sihoo Doro C300.

As a previous user of the Sihoo M18, a highly-rated chair on Amazon with over 10,000 reviews and an average of 4.5 stars, I was curious to see how the Doro C300 stacked up.

In this review, I’ll take a closer look at the design, features, and overall comfort of the Sihoo Doro C300, comparing it to its predecessor and assessing whether it lives up to the hype.

Sihoo Doro C300 Review: Fully Assembled

delivery and Unboxing

Starting with the delivery process, the Sihoo Doro C300 arrived in a well-packaged box delivered by DPD. The box itself showed minimal wear and tear, with just a few minor scuffs on the corner.

Inside the box, the chair’s components were neatly organized, with each piece securely wrapped in a combination of protective plastic bags and bubble wrap to prevent scratches or damage during transport.

I particularly liked the use of carboard inserts which locked the components in place, providing an extra layer of security.

Assembly Process

Assembling the Sihoo Doro C300 was a relatively straightforward process, taking about 30 minutes to complete.

The instructions were clear, and the assembly process was similar to the Nouhaus Ergo3D.

However, the Doro C300 appears to have a few more steps involved, especially when attaching the armrests to the frame.

Even though the assembly itself wasn’t difficult, attaching the armrests added an extra 5 minutes to the process.

Build Quality

Starting with the mesh, it’s both breathable and comfortable, making it a great choice for long workdays.

However, it’s important to note that it might not be the most luxurious mesh on the market. Compared to high-end chairs, the weave might feel a tad looser, but that trade-off is reflected in the price tag.

The backrest frame is robustly constructed. It flexes slightly with your movements, providing a comfortable and responsive support.

While the focus here seems to be on functionality over frills, the clean lines and minimalist design give the chair a modern and professional look that would complement most office spaces.

Compared to other ergonomic chairs on the market, like the Oline ErgoPro, the Doro C300 takes a slightly different approach.

While the Oline ErgoPro boasts a wider range of adjustability features, the Doro C300 prioritizes a balance between comfort and affordability.

Comfort and Ergonomics

Starting with the seat, it features a distinctive suspension design, which is uncommon in chairs within this price bracket.

This suspension system helps evenly distribute your weight, minimizing pressure points and promoting more comfortable, extended use.

While it feels good, it may take some time to adapt if you have always used traditional foam or spring cushions

One of the Doro C300’s shining features is its advanced lumbar support system. This system stands out as a significant upgrade from the more basic offering found in chairs like the Ticova.

The key to this improved support lies in the Doro C300’s dynamic lumbar support. Unlike static lumbar pads that offer a fixed level of push, the Doro C300’s utilizes a self-adaptive mechanism.

This mechanism relies on an intelligent weight-sensing system to adjust the firmness and curvature of the lumbar support in real-time as you move throughout the day.

This ensures that your lower back receives continuous, tailored support that mimics the natural curve of your spine, regardless of your posture.

However, it’s important to note that this advanced level of adjustability might not be for everyone. While many users talk about the Doro C300’s ability to eliminate back pain and promote healthy posture, some reviewers have mentioned that the dynamic support can feel overly aggressive for those who prefer a less pronounced lumbar experience.

While the chair’s strong lumbar support felt great at first, it became a bit too much in the long run. I’m not a big fan of such aggressive back support, so I found myself constantly adjusting my sitting position to feel comfortable.

However, when it comes to adjustability, the Sihoo Doro C300 offers a robust feature set that allows you to fine-tune the chair to your exact needs, from the seat height to the tilt angle. This is a significant improvement over many ergonomic chairs that might skimp on adjustability.

The armrests also adjust in multiple directions, offering 3D coordinated adjustments for additional customization.

This means you can adjust them up and down, slide them back and forth, and pivot them inwards or outwards, which helps you find the perfect position for optimal comfort and support.

In addition, the armrests provide exceptional comfort. The plush and supportive padding is a welcome improvement over some chairs, such as the previous Sihoo M18, which drew complaints about overly hard armrests.

Adding to the comfort of the Sihoo Doro C300 ergonomic office chair is the inclusion of a headrest. While not a necessity for everyone, it provides a welcome touch of luxury when you need to lean back and relax.

The headrest has a 3D mechanical design, which is featured in both the Sihoo Doro C300 and its Pro version. This design allows the headrest to pivot, tilt, and move vertically, adding up to 45 degrees, thus accommodating various user preferences for comfort and neck support.

Value for Money : Is it Worth it?

Yes, the Sihoo Doro C300 is worth it. It offers excellent value for money in the mid-range price bracket. Although it’s priced higher than some competitors, the quality and features make it a worthwhile investment.

When compared to similar chairs like the ErgoChair 2 or IKEA’s Markus, the Doro C300 stands out by combining style, comfort, and durability, all at a more affordable price.

While the ErgoChair 2 is praised for its customizability and the Markus for its minimalist design, the Doro C300 provides a well-rounded package, offering style, ergonomic support, and long-lasting build quality—without the high cost of its rivals.

For anyone looking for a reliable and comfortable ergonomic office chair without overspending, the Doro C300 is a solid choice.
