Razer, one of the most well-known companies in the gaming world, has built a formidable reputation for delivering high-quality, innovative products.
From keyboards and mice to immersive headsets and powerful laptops, Razer consistently pushes the boundaries to enhance the gaming experience for enthusiasts worldwide.
While most of their products have benefited from over two decades of testing and user feedback, the Razer Iskur is their first gaming chair, aiming to bring the same quality and innovation.
To find out if the Iskur lived up to the hype, I purchased it and used it as my daily chair for three months. During this time, I analyzed its ergonomics, comfort, and overall value.
What We Like
What We Don’t

Delivery and Unboxing
The Iskur arrived in a massive, sturdy cardboard box. Razer’s signature black and green color scheme was prominent, with a sleek image of the chair and bold lettering showcasing its name.
Inside the box, every component was meticulously packed. Each part was individually wrapped in plastic and nestled securely in thick foam cutouts, ensuring they remained protected during shipping. A detailed instruction manual and a set of tools were included, making assembly a breeze.
The chair’s base, backrest, and armrests were the largest components, each carefully wrapped and cushioned. Smaller parts like the casters, hydraulic piston, and screws were neatly organized in a separate box

Assembly Process
With all the parts unpacked and laid out, assembly was surprisingly simple. The included instruction manual offered clear, step-by-step guidance with easy-to-follow illustrations.
The entire process took about 30 minutes, and I didn’t encounter any issues. The tools provided were adequate, and the pre-drilled holes aligned perfectly.
Even someone with limited experience assembling furniture should be able to put this chair together with ease.
Unlike other gaming chairs I’ve assembled, such as the Secretlab Titan or the DXRacer Formula Series, the Iskur’s assembly process was notably smoother.
The Titan’s backrest and seat base can be a bit unwieldy to connect due to their size, while the Formula Series’ armrests can be tricky to align perfectly.
With the Iskur, each component fit seamlessly into place, and the clear instructions made it a hassle-free experience.

Build Quality
The Iskur’s build quality is immediately apparent. From the moment you lift a component, you can feel the heft and solidity of the materials used.
The steel frame is robust and doesn’t flex or creak, even under the weight of heavier users. The multi-layered fabric is thick and feels durable, while the stitching is tight and even, showing no signs of fraying or weakness.
The armrests, while made of plastic, feel surprisingly sturdy and well-constructed. They don’t wobble or squeak, and the padding is firm yet comfortable. The casters are smooth and glide effortlessly across both carpet and hard floors.
The chair’s overall construction gives a sense of quality and attention to detail that’s often lacking in other gaming chairs. It feels like a piece of furniture that’s built to last, not just a temporary seating solution.

Adjustability and Ergonomics
In terms of adjustability, the Razer Iskur offers a good amount of customization. The armrests are 4D dreams, moving up and down, swivelling in and out, and even adjusting forward and backward.
This lets you find the perfect position for your elbows and forearms, reducing strain during long gaming sessions.

However, the seat itself doesn’t offer much adjustability. It has a fixed bucket seat design, which some may find restrictive.
While the padding is comfortable, I wasn’t a huge fan of the feeling of being so enclosed. Bucket seats prioritize security in racing cars, not all-day comfort.
Despite the seat design, the Razer Iskur makes up for it in ergonomics. The backrest reclines a decent amount(152 deg), though I wouldn’t say it’s ideal for napping or lounging. This chair is designed for a more focused posture.
The included headrest pillow is plush and comfortable, and thankfully removable if you find it unnecessary.

The lumbar support system is the real selling point of this chair. It’s a unique adjustable mechanism that blows other chairs out of the water.
Unlike chairs with fixed lumbar cushions, the Razer Iskur features a built-in arch that you can push forward using a lever.
This allows you to fine-tune the support to perfectly cradle your lower back. I was pleasantly surprised by this feature.
Unlike some gaming chairs where the lumbar support feels like an afterthought, the Iskur’s system is truly adjustable and provides excellent support throughout my testing.
However, it’s worth noting that this adjustability might not be necessary for everyone. If you have a perfectly straight back, the pronounced curve might even feel intrusive.

Value For Money
While the Razer Iskur is a premium product, its value for money can be somewhat subjective.
For those who appreciate high-quality construction, innovative features, and brand reputation, the Razer Iskur may well justify its higher price tag compared to chairs like the Secretlab Omega.
However, it’s worth noting that at a similar price point, alternatives like the Haworth Fern or a refurbished Herman Miller Aeron offer superior ergonomic support and build quality.
They often feature more refined ergonomic adjustments that cater to a wider range of body types and sitting preferences.
Therefore, I recommend that you carefully consider your needs before purchasing this chair. If aesthetics and decent ergonomics are important to you, then it is a good choice.

Verdict: Is it Worth It?
Yes, the Razer Iskur is worth it, but only if you are specifically looking for a gaming chair, as it excels in this niche with its gaming-oriented features and aesthetics.
However, as I mentioned above, if you compare it with ergonomic office chairs, the Razer Iskur might not hold up in terms of pure ergonomic flexibility and long-term comfort.
For gamers who want the Razer experience, the Razer Iskur provides an excellent option with its robust build quality and innovative lumbar support.
On the other hand, for those who need a chair that offers optimal ergonomic benefits for long hours of work, investing in a specialized office chair might provide better overall value and comfort.
