While notifications can often be a constant distraction, this time one quick ping actually worked in my favor by bringing the announcement for the new Musso X700 chair, which immediately sparked my curiosity.
Yes! I am subscribed to all brand new releases to keep myself updated. What can I say? A man with a passion, haha.
As I’m a big fan of their H80 Pro, even though I hadn’t yet had the chance to write a full review, I was excited to see what improvements and features this new model would offer.
I quickly grabbed my card, filled in my details, and in what felt like the blink of an eye, the order was placed. So without further delay, let’s dive into what Musso has managed to deliver with their latest office chair release.
For the Musso X700 Ergonomic Chair review I looked at delivery and unboxing, ease of assembly, design and build quality, comfort and ergonomics, and overall performance..
What We Like
What We Don’t

delivery and Unboxing
As usual, let’s start with the delivery and unboxing. The box arrived in good condition, with just a few minor marks. My first impression was that I really like the branding.

The box stands out from the crowd and believe me, I have seen hundreds by this point. It gives off a premium vibe.
The color scheme reminded me a bit of the Razer Iskur, and I appreciated the clear instruction on top of the box that says, “Open from this side.” Trust me, I know what you are thinking, but it actually helps since sometimes people do not pay attention.

The box itself is quite heavy. The model I received weighs 28.1 kilograms (62 pounds). So, I asked a friend to help me carry it up the stairs.

When opening the box, we are greeted by the biggest branding banner and, on the other side, the largest assembly guide I have ever seen which I believe also acts as a protective layer (see the picture).
Everything was nicely packed and protected in bags, separated by cardboard and foam inserts.
A minor downside is that I would prefer to see fewer plastic bags used and more cardboard holders, similar to what the Sihoo Doro C300 uses. This would show a more sustainable approach.

Assembly Process
When it came to assembly, it was surprisingly simple. It took me around 15 to 20 minutes at most. I have to give some credit here.
First, the screws and plastic washers were already fitted, which made the process easier. My favorite part, especially for a base that needs to be assembled, is that the cover that goes on top was tight and made out of plastic rather than metal, unlike the Sihoo M57 or M18.

Those can be quite noisy sometimes, and the loose feeling makes them look cheap, even if they are made out of aluminum instead of plastic. Additionally, the headrest was really easy to install, and the mold helped a lot in aligning and screwing it together.
Apart from that, you just need to be a bit careful since it is slightly bigger than usual, but that should not be a big problem. I personally find it similar to every other chair in this regard.

Design and Build Quality
The Musso X700 makes a strong first impression with a design that feels both modern and imposing.
It is slightly bulkier than many other models in its category, and when viewed from the back it has a more aggressive look that can seem almost intimidating.
This gives it a unique character, setting it apart from sleeker, more minimalistic chairs.
The frame is made of solid, high-quality plastic that provides both strength and flexibility. While it is not metal, it still feels sturdy and well-engineered, with no creaks or signs of weakness during use.
The materials used throughout the chair feel robust and well finished, avoiding the cheap or brittle sensation that some chairs give off.

After 300 hours of daily use, there are no signs of wear, not even a scratch. However, I do have some concerns about the long-term durability of the PU leather on the armrests and footrest. Although it feels premium and comfortable, my past experience tells me that this type of material can scratch and pill faster over time.
Overall, the Musso X700 combines a bold design with a well-constructed frame and premium materials, resulting in a chair that not only looks striking but also feels built to last.

Comfort and Ergonomics
From the moment you sit in the Musso X700, you will immediately be impressed and maybe even a little overwhelmed in the best possible way by the level of comfort and adjustability it offers.
Nearly every part of this chair can be fine-tuned to suit your preferences, whether you are working, gaming, or simply relaxing.

The model I received is covered in mesh, which offers excellent breathability and features a suspended seat design.
The mesh quality is impressive for this price range, feeling both supportive and comfortable. It even feels slightly better to the touch than the mesh on the Flexispot C7 Pro Air, which is a strong competitor in this category.
As someone who works from home quite often, sometimes without wearing a t-shirt, I appreciated that the backrest never became sticky or scratched my skin, which can be a common issue with lower-quality mesh chairs.

Comfort-wise, every adjustable feature is well integrated and easy to operate, with dedicated levers for each function. It might take a few minutes to get used to what each lever does, but once you learn, fine-tuning becomes quick and effortless.
The X700 includes seat depth adjustment, 360 degree armrests, a footrest, and a gliding track for the lumbar support.
The first thing you will probably notice is the armrests. They are extremely comfortable, better than the Steelcase Amia and far superior to most chairs in this range.

The pads are large and wide, and the 360 degree adjustability in height, width, depth, and swivel adds real flexibility.
The only concern I have is long-term durability, so I would recommend adding covers for both the armrests and footrest to keep them in top shape.

The footrest comes with two wide, cushioned pads offering the same comfort as the armrests. Regardless of your height or weight, the footrest is easy to use and adjust.

What makes it particularly functional is how seamlessly it works with the chair’s recline and incline system. Whether you want to lean back for a break or focus on a task, it adapts perfectly.

Next up is the main feature here, the lumbar support. Musso put some real effort into this and call their technology GlideTrack.

This system actively moves with you, maintaining continuous contact with your lower back as you shift or recline. In theory, this dynamic support helps maintain the natural curve of your spine, reducing the risk of discomfort during really long sessions.
The GlideTrack system is also complemented by their other tech called LumAlign Vertical Fit, which lets you adjust the lumbar support up and down to perfectly line up with your spine’s natural curve.

On top of that, the TensionTune Dial System allows you to fine-tune how much pressure the lumbar support applies, offering light, neutral, or deep spinal engagement depending on what feels best for you.
It works really well, and I know it sounds complicated, but once you use it a couple of times, you get used to it and can adjust everything just how you want without too much hassle.

My only minor gripe is that the material used could benefit from a bit of padding or something softer. After about ten hours at the desk, you start to feel it a bit haha. But that’s just personal preference.

Last but not least is the headrest. This is actually the first headrest I’ve tested that works exactly as it should, and that says a lot since I’m not usually a big fan of them. The fact that it’s 4D dual axis means it does all the job right.
I’m tired of those 2D adjustable headrests that either sit way too far back so you forget they’re there, or they push too hard and get uncomfortable.
This one avoids all that and just works. And trust me, I don’t care about sales points or marketing hype, this is something that used to annoy me constantly.

Performance Over Time (300 Hour Update)
After logging over 300 hours using the Musso X700 daily, I can confidently say this chair holds up impressively well.
The comfort and adjustability remain just as effective as day one, with no noticeable sagging or loss of support anywhere.
The mesh has maintained its breathability and shows no signs of wear or stretching, which is impressive given how much I use it.
The PU leather on the armrests and footrest, which I was initially concerned about, has held up better than expected.

There are some very minor signs of wear(my fault), like small scratches, but nothing that affects comfort or aesthetics significantly. I still recommend using covers if you want to keep them looking pristine long term.
The GlideTrack lumbar support continues to provide excellent dynamic support throughout long sessions, and the headrest remains as reliable and comfortable as when I first tried it.
Overall, the Musso X700 has proven to be durable and reliable through extended daily use. For anyone who spends many hours at their desk, it definitely earns a strong recommendation from me after 300 hours. I will come back with an update after 1000 Hours.

Value for Money
When it comes to value for money, the Musso X700 offers a lot of features and quality that you don’t often find in this price range. From its solid build and thoughtful design to its impressive comfort and adjustability, it feels like a premium chair without the premium price tag.
Compared to competitors like the Flexispot C7 or even higher-end models like the Steelcase Amia, the X700 holds its own and in some areas even outperforms them, especially with features like the GlideTrack lumbar system and the 4D headrest.
Sure, there are minor concerns but for the price, this chair delivers great ergonomics, customization, and comfort that justify the cost. A star from me for value.

Is It Worth It?
Yes, absolutely it is worth it! Especially if you are tall or heavier than average. The Musso X700 is designed to accommodate a wide range of body types with its sturdy frame, generous seat dimensions, and robust adjustability. It offers comfort and support that many other chairs in this price range struggle to provide.
If you want a chair that can handle long hours, keep you comfortable, and offer a high level of customization without breaking the bank, this is a solid choice.
Of course, if you are very particular about materials or want a chair with a luxury brand name, you might want to look elsewhere.
But for what you get, the Musso X700 delivers excellent value and performance. A star from me for sure.
